With current Novel Coronavirus crisis, I hope that every one follows WHO and U.S. CDC prevention protocol to protect yourself and your family. As you may know, the majority of Coronavirus patients in China received treatment of Chinese herbs and achieved satisfactory effects. China Public Health Commission incorporates TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) into its Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia diagnosis and treatment guideline (version 7) (see here). TCM can rapidly improve symptoms in patients with mild symptoms, shorten the course of illness for patients with severe symptoms, and reduce the possibility of mild infections from becoming severe (see here ) If you have concern or illness associated with the virus, please contact you doctor. If you are interested in Chinese herbs, you may contact me. Posted by Xingning Zhao, 3/28/2020

02/26/2020 Acupuncture benefit for heart

I hope that you have seen my post of 2/19/2020 regarding a recent study on acupuncture beneficial effect on heart. A number of other studies I posted before show similar effect. I encountered an elderly before who has Atrial Fibrillation and could not receive anti-coagulation therapy because of history of major bleeding; and she could not tolerate Amiodarone (a major medication for controlling heart rate) because of thyroid problem and lung problem. She could not tolerate other heart rate control medications such as beta-blocker and calcium channel blocker because of sinus node issue and low blood pressure. She declined ablation surgery because of old age and other concerns. She also has congested heart failure. In such complicated case, where patient has contradiction to conventional therapies, Traditional Chinese Medicine can play a role. The patient has been out of this country, otherwise I should be able to help. Posted by Xingning Zhao, 2/26/2020
